Local 600 in the Community

In the true sense of community, Local 600 actively promotes programs which give back to the community around us and improve the lives of its members.

Local 600 Scholarship

In conjunction with the Massachusetts AFL/CIO, Local 600 presents a $1,000 scholarship to the top eligible applicant each year based on scores on the Mass. AFL/CIO scholarship exam.

Eligibility requirements for 2008:

  1. Applicants must be a senior in high school and must be a son or daughter of a Local 600 member in good standing.
  2. Submit applicant's name, address and high school affiliation in writing along with member's name and address to Local 600 office by January 10, 2008
  3. Applicant must notify proper high school officials by January 10, 2008 that he/she intends to take Mass. AFL/CIO scholarship exam.
  4. Exam must be taken on statewide testing date - scheduled for February 4, 2008.

Roger A. Ford Scholarship

Since 2003, Local 600 has sponsored the annual Roger A. Ford Memorial Tournament which funds a scholarship foundation. For more information, click here.
